2012 First FOSS Friday (13 of January)

Hello Everyone

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday and remember that this years first FOSS Friday is this Friday the 13 of January 2012.

Free drop-in session from 12 noon to 7 pm at Fossbox Workshop, 46 Matilda House, St Katharine’s Way, E1W 1LG.

Everyone is welcome, the drop-in session is for people interested in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), Linux OS (Ubuntu, Bodhi and LinuxMint), WordPress and general advice in open solutions.

Also very welcome: Volunteers with Ubuntu and WordPress knowledge are welcome.

2nd of December FOSS Friday

We at Fossbox only give advice and support on Ubuntu Desktops and not on Microsoft Windows OS (operating system), however we can show you alternative Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) that you could use on this system so you can get started and discover the vast amount of FOSS tools and applications.

Volunteers with Ubuntu and WordPress knowledge are welcome.

Identi.ca makeover is a pleasure to use!

Ooooh, Gwibber not working so just visited Identi.ca web interface — the redesign is really nice — uncluttered, very fast and clear. If you don’t already use StatusNet/Identi.ca, it’s really worth a look, it might not have the userbase Twitter can boast but it really should!

Fossbox is organising a conference with Okaycomputer for women using FLOSS in development, advocacy, activism, or digital projects on 15 November in London — there’s an outline for the event and a call for participation on the Flossie website and you can join the FLOSSIE mailing list here.
